Last updated: April 21, 2026

StreamSnip respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 ("DMCA"), StreamSnip will respond to claims of copyright infringement committed using the StreamSnip service.

1. Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe that content available on or through StreamSnip infringes your copyright, send a written takedown notice that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing (including a URL or other location).
  • Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

2. Designated agent

Send all DMCA takedown notices to our designated agent at dmca@streamsnip.io. Our physical-address registration with the U.S. Copyright Office will be updated once StreamSnip's operating entity formation is complete; until then, email is the authoritative channel and will be responded to within the statutory window.

3. How we process notices

On receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice, we will:

  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material expeditiously.
  • Notify the user who posted the material that it has been removed.
  • Forward the counter-notification process to the user if they believe the removal was in error.

4. Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it previously appeared.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court in the judicial district where you live (or the Northern District of California if outside the United States).

Send counter-notifications to dmca@streamsnip.io.

5. Restoration of content

On receipt of a valid counter-notification we will forward it to the party who submitted the original takedown notice. If that party does not file a lawsuit within 10 business days, we may restore the removed material.

6. Repeat infringers

In accordance with the DMCA, StreamSnip maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers.

7. Misrepresentation warning

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake — may be liable for damages. Please do not submit false notices or counter-notices.

8. Good faith

We handle all DMCA matters in good faith and strive to balance the rights of copyright holders with the rights of creators using StreamSnip legitimately. If the notice is ambiguous we may ask for clarification before acting.
